Why not just buy a proper envelope that is approved for mailing? l would get a cushioned one if l were going to send a necklace. A better idea would be to put it in a box and mail it.

The one you show in the second picture is post-office legal.

im not sure if u can make an envelope from a manila folder
but u can send stuff in manilla envelopes
and just put bubble wrap in it.
they're cheaper than buying padded envelopes
i have a boutique on myspace, so l buy & sell a lot of stuff & l always reuse the envelopes & boxes l get by crossing out the name &writing the new to&from adresses on a piece of paper & taping it to the envelope.
& yes u can do that, like l said in the other question, its one 42 cent stamp per ounce. any envelope that can fit in ur mailbox can be mailed that way. :] l always put a 20 cent extra stamp just to make sure, or if my scale says 3.5 oz l will put like four 42cent stamps because sometimes my foodscale is a tad different from the postal scale & if its the slightest bit under-paid/under-stamped, they will send it back to you.
