Please explain to me what exactly Business Finance is? My mom wants me to do it. And every other persons major is Fiance. Thats cool, but l have NO IDEA what it is and what it deals with. Like what to the people do exactly? And what type of math and classes are involved?

if your going to major have to take calculus amongst other courses. the math involved includes formulas, most of which can be computed on a financial calculator. Be advised, its not a great time in the current economy for finance majors looking for employment.

l always thought they were one and the same, just a different way of labelling it. If not Business Finance will probably focus on and study the financial workings of businesses in general in the marketplace. The day to day of how any general company works and what financial variables they encounter and have to deal with to stay afloat. You will probably do lots of statistics, economics, accounting type stuff. Hope it works! G

They can drill down and figure out what each pencil costs. In a big company each finance person might be in charge of one small portion of the business to keep track of the money involved. You would learn how to keep books and records, most run on software now, you do not have to be the great Wizard.
