l would say a percentage. Depending on how young they are maybe start with 5% then up to 10%. As your business improves maybe up to 20%. It is really your decision.

Eliminate the problem by paying someone you do not know. You know you wo not get it done for $1.00 an entry. Two suggestions:1. Simplest is to pay them so much an hour. You know that will be fair. or 2. Give them a second choice with an incentive. 5% -10% of each sale. It will inspire them to do a better job.

You could pay them an hourly rate. l know it took more than an hour to list all that. Or pay them so much per listing just like ebay charges a listing fee. If u wanted more details of course it cost more. If pictures were taken & posted as well then that fee would be included! l would think that at least $1.00 per listing would be the starting of fair if all the above were done.

l would also have to say that would only be if u were not in a financial crunch. If that money is going to pay the electric or put food in their mouth l would explain that the family pulled together for a good cause!

l list items on eBay for a local pawn shop regularly> On average, l only get 10 items listed per day (Bear in mind l am told to aim for an attractive & accurate listing, including a fair deal of research on any given item, while handling other small tasks in the shop when needed). 100 items would take me around 10 days. I'd probably expect 2 weeks worth of at least minimum wage; which in my state is case would total out to around $450 - 500. l am paid for time on the clock, not for a percentage of the items net profit. This works both for & against me, depending on the item -- But a flat rate is pretty fair.

Now. That is the facts. The other considerations u need to make concern ur kids & ur budget. Unfortunately, none of us can help u with that. Maybe ask what they think they should get, & go from there.
