I am looking forward to opening a successful coin laundromat. Any good brands on washers that spin dry fast to save energy on dryers and as well as satisfying customers of the outcome of their clothes. How does it work of opening a laundromat? Would someone have to be present at all times or are the stores lefted for self service? let me know any information that involves laundromats. Great idea! Every time I've been with one, it has always been busy =) l am an enterprising person as well & it just so happens I've caught the owner before & picked his brain. After all, l would see him right around closing time, & he was there to just collect the monies =)

SO, here is what he suggested, & shared (Keep in mind, his place was size-able.about 45 washers & 30 dryers)

Location: College towns, apartment-rich areas, lower middle class areas

Change machine accepting up to $20 bills

One little sink

Merchandise: Have a vending machine with some snacks, & if u can, a vending machine with laundry supplies. One arcade game, & a TV, he also sells collapsible hampers for $5

Variation: low price range basic washer & dryers, higher priced stainless steel washers & dryers, a couple giant dryers

Rolling carts, areas for folding clothes

AND one little lady with an apron, with some paper change for large bills, wiping down washers & keeping the place tidy

He said other than that lady who really is there for constant up keep, there is no supervision needed. Thats the beauty of the coin-op business! That laundromat was in North Hollywood & he said he put about a million dollars into, but made a gross amount of money every month that he didnt want to include more details about

So go out for that business loan, good luck with location & everything! Overall, somehow make it not boring to sit there & watch ur spin cycles.and make it a clean, pleasant place :o)
